What should you eat this winter?
As winter approaches, all of us are tempted to stay in bed with our munchies. While this is fun, it is important to include some important foods to keep our body nourished and warm and avoid the risk of heart diseases.
Here is a list of foods you must consume during winters:
- High quality carbs – In winters your serotonin (feel-good brain chemical declines) and body craves carb-filled comfort food. Try eating whole grains, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and squashes.
- Seasonal fruits – Pack in the nutrition with grapefruit, oranges, pomegranates, cranberries, apples, etc. The Vitamin C in these helps keep cold and flu under control too.
- Vitamin D – If you do not get plenty of sun, consult a physician and take Vitamin D supplements
- Eat lots of vegetables and consume the right proteins
